theBlackBox Series

theBlackBox Series filtration systems were developed after seeing first-hand the need to provide reliable, clean water in Guatemala.  The systems leverage proven hollow fiber membrane technology to filter source groundwater to 99.99999% pure. These are a series of scalable units which use double filtration. Our designs facilitate applications from the personal home to high-volume civic municipality use. With manual valves or our automated controller and actuators, the systems can be back flushed, guaranteeing clean water production, optimizing filter performance, and maximizing longevity.

With proper maintenance enhanced by automation, the systems operate for years. Simple and effective, point-of-use clean water for just pennies a day for the life of the filter system. Readily accessible clean water can be a reality across the world.

theBB500 / BB600

theBB500 (Manual) and theBB600 (Automatic) operate whenever water runs through their filters. It has a maximum flow rate of 38 LPM (10 GPM). It can operate 24/7. During any given 8-hour period, it can produce 18,000+ liters (4700+ gallons) of clean water. This volume will support a school of 1,000 children with 2 liters of water per day and an additional 3,000 homes with 18 Liters (5 Gallons) per day. Only three connection points are required using standard ½” threaded connections. Installation is typically completed in less than 45 minutes. A solar power option ensures functionality even without a reliable power grid.

Economical knockdown versions of both theBB500 and theBB600 are available.

theBB900 / BB1000

theBB900 (Manual) and BB1000 (Automatic) operate whenever water is running through their filters. It has a maximum flow rate of 120 LPM (30 GPM) at 20 PSI. It can operate 24/7. During any given 8-hour period, it can produce 57,400+ liters (15,100+ gallons) of clean water. This volume will support homes, schools, and entire communities of 100+ homes. Only three connection points are required using standard 1” threaded connections. Installation is typically completed in less than 45 minutes. A solar power option ensures functionality even without a reliable power grid.

theBBController

The BBController Box automates the valve sets on the BB600 and BB1000. It removes the human element and backflushes the filters automatically.

The BBController Box is an IP67 waterproof enclosure housing the controller electronics. The diagnostic panel displays the power and time mode switches. The LEDs indicate battery health, active system power, and backflush valve orientation.

It operates with a 12 Volt battery set. In addition, it has a 1 amp Wall Plug and solar panel for charging, allowing various installation configurations, be it an indoor closet or outdoors in a field.

theBBTreatment Plant

When infrastructure isn’t in place, and a more centralized filtration system is required for even greater demands, the BB Treatment Plant scales up to the need using multiple BB1000s and filtering up to 14 LPS.

Testing is currently being done as this system is in development.
